Motion made and carried that by-laws be amended as proposed

 Article 2 – Duties of Officers

 Section 6 – Obligations

 C. – The Quartzsite Gem and Mineral Club will award a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior  student from the Quartzsite area each year.   The Board of Directors shall have the authority to increase  the amount and number of scholarships if the club has sufficient funds.  All scholarship awards must be  dispersed by October 15 of the calendar year after the year of award.  Failure of the recipient to claim  the scholarship will result in forfeiture of award and the funds will become available to be awarded in  the future to another individual.

 Article 5 – Voting 

 Section 1

 A. -   Election of the new board of directors shall be held at the first Thursday in February each year.

 Article 9 – Quorum – a quorum is 175 members of the club must be present.  Three fourths must agree   with amendment proposal for the amendment to pass and voting is by paper ballot. 
  
 
 
 

 Section 2 

  A. – The Board of Directors shall hold a meeting on the First (1st) Monday of each month at 4:30 pm in  the shop building from November through March.  A Quorum at these meetings shall consist of four (4)  board members.  Any member is welcome and encouraged to come to any regular board meeting. 
 Article 10 - Shop Use

 Section 1

 F. No section of the Club Shop shall be open for member use on cookout days unless a shop    superintendent, Instructor and foreperson is present in that shop section
